Spend a morning with Black Barn Farm’s beekeeper Michelle (@miss_shells_bees) as she introduces you to the captivating world of the European honey bee. This workshop is perfect for anyone who is considering becoming an apiarist and would like to know more. You will leave with a profound appreciation of these remarkable creatures and be ready to start your own journey into the world of beekeeping.
Workshop includes:- comprehensive information about the honey bee, life cycle, behaviour, equipment, beekeeping basics and regulations- the chance to get suited up and experience the inner workings of a beehive, bee suits and gloves provided- the opportunity to register your interest in purchasing a hive for the 2025 season (one on one mentoring session included)
Morning tea and notes included.

Their orchard is constantly changing with many difference varieties of tree ripened fruits, including apples, pears, stone fruit, berries, chestnuts, local walnuts and honey.
